Corner House Podcast review of When Unlikely Things Happen by Kit Abramson & dubsection. Performed 14/10/2011 at the Corner House, Manchester.
Working with artist Kit Abramson we set off an installation of metronomes in an attempt to play out The Amen break. Positioned on an array of swinging, rolling and floating apparatus, the metronomes were programmed in the hope of revealing this classic beat in an unrepeatable event. To change the sounds we used Abletons formants filters and effects, with an Akai APC 40 and a Pro 40 but kept true to the performance not using samples or any recorded material. The beat was achieved by only switching mics on and off.
The performance lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Due to this being clearly the best seller on Move Star's recent album of the same name we decided to get some new fresh remixes done by L.A.'s Funky Outlaw and the UK's dubsection. The single also includes the original and also the instrumental versions.
The Funky Outlaw produces a bang up to date minimal-tech big room take on this popular classic. dubsection harks back to the funk Detroit roots of Robert O'Dell mixing Soulful Deep House and a Deep Dub Bass.
Produced by Jeppe Loverman of House Rules and DaddyKshun.
Previously Robert O'Dell has worked with Rephlex, George Clinton & Juan Atkins.
